HUNGER GAMES 30 DAY CHALLENGE: DAY 11 (SPOILERS AHEAD) Something You Hate About The Series: Mockingjay’s Change of Pace This is probably something that was unavoidable, but I will always consider Mockingjay my least favorite book in the trilogy. Why? It just wasn’t as exciting as the first two. I’ll admit I flew through the last 100 pages or so, but mostly because they were a lot more interesting than what came earlier in the novel. I’ve come to the conclusion that without The Hunger Games and Catching Fire, Mockingjay would have been better, and by no means was it bad, but it wasn’t gripping either.  I think probably the biggest change of interest came when Peeta came to district 13. Everything about him was fascinating because he had been away too long. The book dragged when Katniss was describing district 13 because it was…kinda dull. I don’t think it was meant to be exciting, but nobody added much interest. It wasn’t until the rescue Op. that really set things into motion.
