HUNGER GAMES 30 DAY CHALLENGE: DAY 10 (SPOILERS AHEAD)
Peeta Or Gale: Peeta
I‘ll admit while reading the first two books, I was very back and forth about who I actually wanted Katniss to end up with. Now that I look back, I feel like this was mostly attributed to Gale being largely absent through first two novels. In comparison, Peeta was almost constantly by her side. However, come Mockingjay, it became clear to be that I was rooting for Peeta.
Katniss liked Gale, no doubt, but for some reason, I never got the impression that Gale was GOOD for her. And to that effect, Katniss reflects these thoughts at the ending of the novel, telling the reader that Gale had too much fire in him. While I think the possibility of Gale’s bomb killing Prim was something she couldn’t get over, he was always too much like her. Peeta always seemed more heartfelt and less driven by power, something that only brought Katniss misery (Being the mockingjay).
Gale was so caught up in winning this war against the capitol, he disappears, begging us to ask why he never came back for her. We may never know, but I was glad to see her end up with Peeta. Even though they were thrown together for the camera’s, I always felt like there was something there…
Does this make me Team Peeta? xD
